Happy Chinese New Year! During the Chinese New Year, the Chinese give red envelopes filled with money symbolizing Good Fortune and Wealth. The Money Frogs or 3-legged toads are also used to attract wealth. They are considered auspicious symbols of good fortune. They bring wealth, protect and guard what you already have. Placed in an office, a business near the cash register or in the home near the front door they attract wealth, bringing abundance to the home and office.
Valentines Day is for lovers. Feng Shui suggests that if you are looking for a new love make room in your bedroom, and bathroom for a new love to appear. Clear a shelf in the bathroom, make space in your closet and clean out a draw in your dresser. Act as if there is someone already sharing your home, with all the extra room available who knows what can happen!
Here are three ideas to make the most of this special day:
- Toss three handfuls of a mix of five different grains (or birdseed) onto the earth sowing your heart’s desires and wishes.
- Get a red helium balloon and write your prayer or goal (with a black marker) and release to the Sky Dragons. Keep an eye on your wish until it disappears into heaven.
- In red ink on pretty paper or black ink on red paper, write down three goals for this next year. Read it aloud 3 times a day (first thing upon waking, at noon and again before sleeping). I like to keep mine in a red envelope. Do this for 9 consecutive days. Keep the wishes where you can see them often and burn when your wishes come true.
When choosing presents for Tigers:
Remember they are loyal, active, courageous, enthusiastic and generous. They cannot live without the unforeseen. If your partner is a tiger, be ready to follow wherever he or she leads. You will find yourself in some extraordinary situations, but you must keep up your energy, as there will be no respite. Tigers love to solve your problems, so they might like a voucher to a murder mystery weekend. They like to hunt and compete and they are always active, so they will be keen to go to any social activities, from car racing to kite flying. You are quite safe to choose any activity-based present. If you would like to buy them something to keep, a carp pen pot is a symbol on martial attributes because of the carp’s ability to swim upstream and win—so this would make a great practical present.
In the year of the Tiger:
Sudden conflicts and crisis arise to this year and will have an impact for some time. The year for grand schemes for the courageous, but underhand activities may suffer from repercussion.
