Always Green

From our green products, to our green building, to our green lifestyle, we lead the environmental movement by example. Back when green was still just a color, Dr. Forrest Shaklee founded our company on the principle of Living in Harmony With Nature® that is committed to developing products to improve the health of people and the planet. The principles we were founded on 50 years ago are more relevant today than ever before, and we continue to lead by example. As you are spreading the word about Shaklee and being green, here are some great green facts.

In 1960, Shaklee introduced Basic-H® Concentrated Organic Cleaner, one of the first nontoxic, biodegradable cleaners. Forty years later, sales of Basic-H2® last year could have eliminated 1.7 million bottles, compared to conventional, ready-to-use cleaners, and those, if placed end to end, would wrap around the earth almost 12 times! We believe cleaning house shouldn't involve dirtying the earth.

Get Clean products use biodegradable cleaning agents, which means they break down easily instead of hanging out in the ground for hundreds of years. And by making them superconcentrated, we leave you to add water so we can subtract waste. This means less weight to ship, less product to use and less packaging to throw away. And, through the sale of Get Clean Starter Kits, we have prevented 88 million pounds of greenhouse gas emissions compared to ready-to-use cleaners.More Green Clean Facts:
  • 0 harsh fumes
  • 0 phosphates, nitrates, or many other chemicals that are harmful to the planet are in Get Clean
  • 0 volatile organic cleaning compounds are in Get Clean

Even our corporate World Headquarters is a physical tribute to what Shaklee believes in. Our World Headquarters is award-winning for its environmental design and is one of the first green, energy-saving buildings designed using sustainable materials, including certified sustainable wood, recycled carpets, and recycled plastics[Needs substantiation before it is used. Please provide.]. No matter where you are in the building, you can see sky, trees, hills and fields. Advanced architectural design brings the beauty of outdoors inside with natural light, natural materials, and natural colors. And, in 2001, Shaklee received the Savings by Design Energy Efficiency Integration Award by the American Institute of Architects.

All of us at Shaklee are in this because we want to do our small part. And each of our small contributions put together will create that major change we wish to see in the world. That is our commitment to green.
