Teresa, 30 pounds, 7 inches healthier

In May 2006, Florida resident Teresa was diagnosed with an aggressive form of breast cancer. Courageously, she responded with an equally aggressive form of treatment that included a double mastectomy, strong chemotherapy, and the maximum level of radiation. During her nine months of treatment, Teresa experienced some expected side effects – hair loss, nausea, pain, skin burn, and the suppression of her immune system that resulted from flushing her body with chemicals. However, she did not anticipate the 30-pound weight gain that came after her treatment.

More than two years had passed when Teresa, who was cancer free but still carrying the extra weight, met a Shaklee Distributor who introduced her to the Cinch™ Inch Loss Plan. And in just over four months with the Cinch plan, Teresa got back to her pre-cancer weight—30 pounds and 7 inches healthier*—as well as her self-described "pre-cancer state of mind."
"Once you start treatment, you get down. The chemicals affect you; you're basically poisoning your body to kill the cancer," she says. "It takes a real toll on you. Your brain is just not as sharp. Your body is tired. It takes a long time to get all that out of your system."
"Using the Cinch™ plan has been good for me," she says. "I never feel hungry, which is amazing. It has helped me lose the unwanted weight I put on after cancer treatment."

But perhaps the biggest difference, Teresa says, has been the significant boost in her energy levels—and with all the additional energy has come a renewed commitment to exercise.

"The whole concept of maintaining muscle while losing fat – I had never heard of that before Cinch. And it's a real positive for me because I like to work out. The muscle tone was important to me," she says. "In addition, I became more diligent about exercising, adding fun Latin dance workouts to my aerobic and weight-training program."

Surviving cancer, losing pounds and inches, and finding new and exciting ways to stay fit. For Teresa, the dancing days really are here again.
