FELICES FIESTAS PATRIAS PERU

Every 28 of July we, the Peruvians, celebrate our independence day. When I used to be in high school, I used to proudly march in El Parque de la Bandera among other schools and military shows of patriotism.

In the center of the capital, Lima, all the military must report to march unless they are on duty protecting the military bases. My relatives meet at the avenue and we all sing the national anthem. After that, usually the higher ranks in the military get saluted by the troops and these and other memories are in my mind specially on a day like this one.

It’s been several years now that I haven’t been able to be there on 28 de Julio with my friends and my family but even here in America, I feel like sing my national anthem and salute the flag and I want to share this moment with all of you, my dear friends and together say ¡QUE VIVA EL PERU!

I’ve been living in this magnificent country for 16 years and I was living in Peru for 17 years. I celebrate both events with the same happiness in my heart and the same patriotism because I belong to both nations.
