Annette, 42 pounds, 37 inches healthier
In February 2008, Annette was heavier than she wanted to be and discouraged from 7 years of trying diet after diet, none of which worked for her. After attending a Valentine's Day Ball, she decided it was time for a change.
"That is when I hit rock-bottom," Annette says. "After trying on everything in my closet, I found one dress that fit me. The only problem was that the dress was a 12 and I was a 14-but it was stretchy, so I could at least squeeze into it. My solution? Put a jacket on to cover myself up. The dinner was great but the dress was too tight leaving me very uncomfortable when I ate. And the jacket? Well, it just made me overheated and more uncomfortable. However, since my too-tight dress made me look like a can of biscuits that had popped open, I couldn't exactly take the jacket off. I was miserable."
She started the Cinch™ Inch Loss Plan on February 17, 2008, and by October, Annette was 42 pounds and 37 inches healthier*-and she has been maintaining her healthy lifestyle with the Cinch plan ever since.
The greatest challenge she encountered with the Cinch™ plan, Annette says, was trying to keep her weight-loss a secret. "I didn't tell anyone what I was doing for two reasons. One, I didn't want to listen to all of the opinions and diet chatter. Two, I wanted to see if anyone would be able to tell a difference if they weren't looking for one."
Her secret came out during a shopping excursion with a friend-after Annette had lost 17 pounds. "I was shopping for a size 10 (Annette's previous size was 14).* My friend was kinda mad at first, saying that if she'd known what I had been doing, she would've done it with me!"
Once people started to take notice of her success, things changed for Annette. Because of her weight loss, her knee, which had been a constant source of discomfort, has been feeling better during her lengthy walks. But probably the biggest change, she says, has been a healthy boost of self-esteem.
"I would wear black all the time-I like the color and I think it looks good, but I would wear it when I was heavier because it didn't show 'the 'rolls' from my extra weight. Now I can wear whatever I want and whatever color I want." Unfortunately, in most cases it takes hitting rock bottom to trigger any kind of change. But what I can tell you is that the Cinch™ plan will be there to help you climb out of that hole, and the Cinch™ family will be there to support you every step of the way."
